Roller Derby at Varnetta:
Varnetta began serving roller derby back in 2006 at the time
when derby was just getting started in Canada. Three leagues arose within
months of each other and from there, derby exploded across the provinces.
Varnetta that was under the name Rangatang was one of only
two stores across Canada that was supplying roller derby gear. Previously
the only way to acquire gear was to order from the United States. Rangatang would later create a division of
Ranagtang known as Roughhouse Skates before finally being placed under the
canopy of Varnetta.
It was an exciting time to be part of the early stages of roller
derby in Canada. Varnetta looks forward to continuing its service to roller
derby as we move into the future as well as be part of the added growth across
Canada.
